Introduction

In November 2016, 22060 consumer complaints relating to telecommunications services were recorded in the Federal Communications Commission system, this represented a decline from the 36160 complaints recorded the previous month. Reports were received from 55 states and territories, with California recording slightly more complaints than other locations. Complaints relating to Unwanted Calls were marginally higher than for other issue types.

Daily complaint activity

Across the month, the FCC recorded an average of 735.3 complaints per day. Where the complaints came from

The 22060 complaints recorded in November 2016 were submitted from 5177 cities across 55 states and territories. Complaint activity was fairly evenly distributed, with no single state or territory accounting for a large share of reports. Despite the overall distribution, a notable concentration at the city level was observed in District of Columbia, where Washington accounted for 95 of the 101 complaints recorded in the state.
