Introduction

In June 2017, 28811 consumer complaints relating to telecommunications services were recorded in the Federal Communications Commission system, complaint volume fell from 34827 complaints the previous month. Reports were received from 55 states and territories, with California recording slightly more complaints than other locations. The largest number of complaints related to Unwanted Calls, with 16607 complaints.

Daily complaint activity

The month averaged 960.4 complaints per day. The highest daily count was 2609 complaints on 30 June 2017, with 20 days recording more complaints than the monthly daily average. The quietest day was 11 June 2017, with 221 complaints, noticeably below the monthly average.

Where the complaints came from

A notable concentration at the city level was observed in District of Columbia, where Washington accounted for 162 of the 193 complaints recorded in the state.
